The Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia held its annual grant awards celebration this week — and gave a record $425,000 to Gwinnett-area nonprofits. The 24 grants awarded were focused on education and food insufficiency.

“Our communities have so many incredible nonprofits doing life-changing, generation-changing work each and every day,” foundation CEO Randy Redner said in a news release. “To be able to support some of them in the work they do, to help them impact even more people and change even more lives — that is part of our mission at the Community Foundation.”
